Dontay M. Givens II

Dontay M. Givens II is a medieval and Renaissance PhD student at New York University. As an aspiring medievalist with interests in the construction of blackness as a literary and iconographical identity in the European Middle Ages and its relation to colonial concepts of race, he focuses in his research on the Dutch-, French-, and German-speaking regions of Western Europe. His research interests also include the history of capitalism, print culture in Early modern Europe, and medieval romance literature.
