Doug Stowe is a woodworker, retired teacher, and author living in Arkansas. In 2009 he was recognized as an Arkansas Living Treasure for his woodworking and role in craft education. He is also the author of several books on how the use of the hands builds intellect, family, community, culture, and the self, including Wisdom of Our Hands: Crafting, a Life, and his newest, Designing Boxes, just released by Taunton Press.
