From 1964 to 1990, from a faculty office at Berea College in Kentucky, Will Campbell and James Holloway published a journal of Christian reconciliation they named from the Greek of Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians: “Be Reconciled!” Walker Percy, Thomas Merton, Fleming Rutledge, Jacques Ellul, and Stanley Hauerwas wrote for them, their essays carrying a vision of the Kingdom that reached beyond the captivities of the American South.
