Luke Bretherton

Luke Bretherton is Canon and Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology at Christ Church College, Oxford University. Prior to Oxford, he was the Robert E. Cushman Distinguished Professor of Moral and Political Theology at Duke University. His latest book is A Primer in Christian Ethics: Christ and the Struggle to Live Well (Cambridge University Press, 2023). His other books include Christ and the Common Life: Political Theology and the Case for Democracy (Eerdmans, 2019). He also hosts the Listen, Organize, Act! podcast, which focuses on the history and contemporary practice of democratic organizing and the role churches play in forms of grassroots, democratic politics.
