Manu S. Pillai

Manu S. Pillai is an Indian historian and the author of five books, most recently Gods, Guns & Missionaries: The Making of the Modern Hindu Identity (2024). A winner of the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar—awarded by India’s national academy of letters for writers under thirty-five—for his first book, The Ivory Throne, Manu holds a PhD in history from King’s College London.
