My work as a family life photographer brings me into other people’s lives, and their relationships, in a very intimate way. Sharing in their expectant waiting, joy, and celebration, as well as their everyday living, I am reminded of the call given to Christians to live in authentic community. That kind of community requires just as much commitment as my artwork. I must plan to interact and not stay isolated. I must make myself available in both time and resources. I must be open and willing to sharing my own experiences.
Emma-Jean, in this moment before her birth, is part not only of my artwork, but of my walk as follower of Christ.
