Rain is a fun piece of art to look at because it is playful enough to simply enjoy visually. In keeping with the spine of most all of my work, however, it still comes at you sideways when you start to mentally play with the image and the colours. My on going premise of an omnipresent economic condition that shapes our culture asks us to consider the colour of the rain, the green man and the ghost image of the same man. Rain is a literary convention that alludes to rebirthing or even a new awareness of one self. So in this small piece I am playing with the question of whether or not, given our current natural and economic climate, are we moving into a new awareness of our self’s as players in this world.
