Oil on linen
2009
Clothing is second skin. It serves to protect us from elements and other’s attraction, but people use it to convey their character. Clothing doesn’t define us, but we define ourselves through it. How horrifying would it be to find our clothes existing without us? We need them more than they need us. They are the shells of our mobility.
As other people are what I am elated and troubled by, I create images of those second skins that I can’t avoid dwelling upon.
