. . . Something interesting is going on at Saint Benedict’s Table, a 2004 church plant in Winnipeg. It’s a congregation chock-full of artists, from musician Steve Bell to artists like Comment friends Suzanne Pringle and Bramwell Ryan. They’ve just sent us a review copy of a fabulous new book and CD, Beautiful Mercy: A Book of Hours. “It is shaped around the seven seasons of the church year (Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and Ordinary Time) and the seven hours or times of prayer (Vigils, Lauds, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline) observed in the monastic tradition. In total there are 49 sections that offer timeless reflection and entry points to the book during any season of the year. While the book is a good devotional resource it also stands on its own as a thing of beauty and as a celebration of artists and writers in our community.”
