Get out your calendars, and mark the following:
James K.A. Smith is everywhere. He delivers two lectures in Ottawa October 7th as part of Theology on Tap, a venture by the University of Ottawa and St. Alban’s Anglican Church. Smith is then back in Ontario speaking at the Association of Reformed Institutions of Higher Education symposium in Hamilton November 5-6. Finally, we find Smith as part of a fantastic lineup of speakers put together by the MacLaurin Institute in Minneapolis (Smith is up November 19).
At Dallas Baptist University, as part of David Naugle‘s acclaimed Big Stone Gap House Lectures and Friday Symposiums, Dr. George Marsden and Dr. C. Steven Evans speak on “The Outrageous Idea of Christian Scholarship” on October 15. And on November 5, Makoto Fujimura speaks on “The ‘Lillies of the Field’ and the Christian Artistic Vision.”
Finally, back in Cardus’ home town of Hamilton and also on October 15, come to a free event at Redeemer University College featuring Bob Goudzwaard, Michael Goheen, and Craig Bartholomew: “Scouting the Future: What Time is it in Our Culture?”
. . . And After Hours this week, Jess Hale guest posts on Stanley Hauerwas’ great new book, Hannah’s Child: A Theologian’s Memoir.
