Chris Ganski

Chris Ganski is the pastor of City Reformed Church in Milwaukee, a recent church plant of the CRCNA. Chris studied philosophy and cultural theory at the University of Central Florida (B.A.) and completed an M.Div. at Princeton Theological Seminary. For a number of years Chris roamed as an intellectual vagabond with his wife Katie. They lived and biked their way around Tübingen, Germany for a year while Chris studied theology at the Evangelische Stift. For two years Chris worked as a Teaching Fellow at Yale University and lived in a community house of budding theologians, politicians, ethicists, and social entrepreneurs.

Chris’ greatest contribution to the Yale community was a legacy of home-coffee roasting and espresso connoisseurship. After completing a PhD in theology at Marquette University he decided to join his deep love for the church and Milwaukee by accepting a call to plant a church in the city. Chris believes strongly that institution-building is a theological activity and has found being a pastor to be the most intellectually satisfying work he has ever done. He gets to catechize in coffee shops, shepherd entrepreneurs, engage artists, work with refugees, evangelize the lost, host extravagant parties, talk economic development, and drink a lot of craft beer with friends.

Chris and Katie have two kids, Tess and Van. Chris cooks all different kinds of cuisines, especially Chinese. After growing up in Florida he loves to surf when he gets the chance, but in Milwaukee most of his outdoor time is spent hanging out with the kids, working in the garden, or biking and running.
