John Bakker

John Bakker is a Chicago based artist. His work has been shown throughout the Midwest. It is in a variety of private, corporate and public collections; most notably he has received two major commissions from the City of Chicago’s Office of Public Art. He has been the chair of the Department of Art and Design at Trinity Christian College for all but one of the last 28 years. He has come to believe that the iconoclast, John Calvin, secretly believed in purgatory because colleges in the Reformed tradition is where God sends artists to purify their hearts.
