Mark Schwehn

Mark R. Schwehn is a senior research professor at Valparaiso University, where he served from 1983 until his retirement from full-time employment in 2018. He continues to serve as the founding director of the Lilly Fellows Program in Humanities and the Arts. He has taught at the University of Chicago as assistant professor of humanities and at Stanford University, where he was associate professor of humanities in Christ College. He served as the dean of Christ College from 1990 to 2003 and as provost of Valparaiso from 2009 until 2014. His most recent book, co-edited with Dorothy Bass, is a revised and expanded edition of Leading Lives that Matter: What We Should Do and Who We Should Be (Eerdmans, 2020).
