Steven Kurutz

Steven Kurutz is a features reporter for the New York Times, where he covers style and culture. His longform essay “Fruitland,” about the music of Donnie and Joe Emerson, was adapted into the feature film Dreamin’ Wild, starring Casey Affleck and Walton Goggins. He is the author of two books: “American Flannel: How a Band of Entrepreneurs Are Bringing the Art and Business of Making Clothes Back Home”; and “Like a Rolling Stone: The Strange Life of a Tribute Band.” A native of central Pennsylvania, he lives with his family in New England.
