Tomáš Halík

Tomáš Halík is a professor at Charles University in Prague, president of the Czech Christian Academy, pastor of the Academic parish, and vice president of the Council for Research in Values and Philosophy at the Catholic University of America in Washington. He is the author of numerous books translated into nineteen languages, was appointed by Pope John Paul II as adviser to the Pontifical Council for Dialogue with Non-Believers (1990), and was named honorary prelate by Pope Benedict XVI. He is a recipient of honourary doctorates from the Universities of Erfurt and Oxford, the Romano Guardini Prize, the Templeton Prize, and national honours from the presidents of the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany.
