When Nicodemus questioned Jesus about how to be born again, Jesus replied with a beautifully poetic response from which we can learn a great deal. The Sound of the Wind was created as meditation of verse 8 from the Gospel of John, “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
My artwork deals greatly with the topic of influence and demand for the search of destiny. Are forces other than our own thought and circumstance pushing or pulling us in any direction? How do we know which path is the right one? This artwork, The Sound of the Wind portrays that small reminder to follow the path of the Spirit. To look and listen for the ways in which we see God’s Spirit moving.
